If you've watched Glee or listened to the radio lately, you have heard Adele's songs from her latest album 21. I love her soulful voice and her raw messages. So many people have been singing their own renditions and this one was so creative I had to post it...enjoy!

all that glitters

I had to go on a trip and my nails needed some color but I don't like waiting for them to dry. I remember hearing about nail polish strips but I wasn't sure how well they would work. To my surprise, these Sally Hansen strips are easy to find at the store and quick to put on. The best part of all is that as soon as they're on...you're ready to go!!

Ladies, this is a great find and they come in fun colors and patterns...Enjoy!!

office space

My desk usually becomes a catch all for magazines, books, pens, papers and anything else I don't know what to do with. I think it's important to create an organized office space that is both functional and inspirational. I searched around and found some great ideas for a home office...I would get so much done if I sat at any of these desks!

I am going to a few weddings this year and it got me thinking about the wonderful details that make it such a memorable day for not only the couple but the guests they share it with. Some traditional elements are getting a modern day twist and the one that caught my eye in a good way, is the wedding band. Some incorporate engravings, others have their spouses finger prints on the inside, and some have patterns. I think this is a great new alternative for couples who want a little something different but still want to honor the traditional notion of bands. Since it's on the inside, it's your little secret!!

Check out the photos below, the craftsmanship is amazing! Would you wear one of these rings?

For those of you who are wine connoisseurs, you may have heard of or even tried wines from Chateau Montelena in Calistoga CA. There is even a movie about the winery called Bottle Shock that came out in 2008 about a blind wine tasting that has been referred to as "Judgment of Paris".

Well, Chateau Montelena introduced their first annual "Re-Imagine Our Chateau" contest where people were challenged to take the well known existing wine label shown below and transform it for a new generation. The winner gets two VIP tickets to their Franc & Blanc party including tastings of their Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. I am thrilled to announce that I will be attending this event June 25th because my boyfriend won the contest! Congratulations to him for his great work!

I'm sure all of us at one time or another wanted someone to literally sit down and teach us how to put on makeup and create certain looks. Some relied on friends, family, or even make up counters that offer makeovers, and others purchased books. Francois Nars, founder of NARS has recently come out with a sequel to his 2001 version Makeup Your Mind: Express Yourself. This amazing book has pictures of various everyday women with different makeup looks and shows a before and after.

That's not all...NARS has launched an extension of their book here. There are 12 looks with step by step instructions listing products and where to put them, so you too can recreate this at home! You can also submit photos of yourself after using the online tutorial and possibly win prizes!! One of the prizes is backstage access to New York Fashion Week...need I say more?!

These are my favorite NARS products:

lip gloss: ophelia

blush: deep throat

salute your shorts

Women have been cutting, bedazzling, and adding to their clothing for years and here is your chance men!!
Have you seen these or these at Urban Outfitters? They are cut off shorts and you can take existing shorts and cut them or pants. We took some pants that were on sale and cut them and voila...3 great pairs of shorts for spring/summer!

Our process:  We measured the length of another pair of shorts; made marks on the new pants (a fabric pencil is great for this); then drew a line and cut them all to the same length; lastly I frayed them (you can be as conservative or adventurous with the fraying here).

It's warming up pretty quickly and I'm already dreading the days when it will get up to 110 degrees...ridiculous...I know! That's why I LOVE maxi dresses, they can be worn during the day or at night with a few accessories. Here are some pricey and affordable dresses, can you tell the difference?

paying it forward

I am guilty of going to Starbucks a few times a week when I'm running late. As I got to the drive-thru window to pay, I was informed that the car ahead of me had paid for my drink...AMAZING!! I immediately smiled and felt like the day was mine for the taking. I decided to keep it going and pay for the car behind me and as I pulled away I saw her smile as she caught on. Little things like that make my day :)

Have a great week everyone!
